BATHROOMS & SHOWERS We have provided separate male and female bathrooms for your comfort. Also showers for those of you camping with us or if you simply want to take a shower! For those inquisitive minds; Yes we do have a proper septic tank and we do actively protect the river!

ENGINEERED SUSPENSION BRIDGE For those interested in some of the bridge parameters here is a description in brief: Main cables; (2) 90m long 1 1/4" American cable rated for 72 tons each cable. Cable anchors; (4) 40# rail cemented into rock 13' (3m) deep; (8) 20mm and 22mm rebar in each of the columns of the cable bridges; 16mm suspension rods on 1m centers. Steel cross ties, hardwood stringers and floor boards; 18 degree angle of decent, 130’ (40m) actual length of bridge walking surface.

VIEWING BALCONIES Likewise, all concrete balconies have been drilled into the bedrock 16' deep and are anchored by 22mm (13/16") rebar. Platforms are then tied together with generous amounts of smaller rebar and poured in with hi-strength concrete. As owner also consults at a local steel mill, no stinginess was needed in rebar use. Your safety, our concern!

TOWER PLATFORM Realizing that the bridge may not be for everyone, the top of the tower includes a viewing platform with a spot for everyone to look out over the waterfall and the Pastaza river drifting down to join the mighty Amazon. This high outcrop of a vantage point offers a spectacular view on top of a level hardwood floor.

COVERED SPACE When the rain persists there is a large covered space to retreat to. This space can also serve as an outdoor conference, session or talk area.

CAMPING We do have camping spots and firewood available. Camping locations and fire size are restricted, so please come with your "low-impact" mindset in place.

SPORTS AREA The Isla del Pailón is not really a sports park. It is an ecological & nature reserve. However, we do have a volley ball court and net all set up should you show up with a particularly city-like group that is not up to the extreme adventure side of our program.
